Further meetings of EAPM are during the "World HR-Congress" in London. There was also the presentation of the Boston Consulting Group's world study called "Creating People Advantage". The "World Study" focused on some of the most important topics, such as Talent Management, Diversity and the Change of Demographics. [...]

Following the two devastating World Wars of the first half of the 20th century, a number of European leaders in the late 1940s became convinced that the only way to establish a lasting peace was to unite the two chief belligerent nations - France and Germany - both economically and politically. In 1950, the French Foreign Minister Robert SCHUMAN proposed an eventual union of all Europe, the first step of which would be the integration of the coal and steel industries of Western Europe. We, as the new team, picture our future duties and responsibilities in strengthening the self-conception of EAPM as an umbrella organisation of the national HR organisations. This should be reinforced by increasing services and networking of the members by showing presence and be modern. We are also planning to introduce a website relaunch which will help interested parties to get in touch with HR experts and improve the EAPM image. [...]
Announcement concerning the new team of EAPM
Mr. Rudolf Thurner took over presidency of EAPM (European Association for People Management) at the EAPM Congress which took place in Vienna during June of this year. Mr. Rudolf Thurner (Austria) will manage the EAPM together with Vice-president Pieter Haen (Netherlands), Past-President Michael McDonnell (Ireland) and the new Secretary General Pierre-Yves Poulain (France) until 2009.
